Location: Dantewad (formerly Bastar) district

Area:1258.00 hectare

Uniqueness:There are around a score of excellent grasslands. Wild buffalo, Chital, Barking deer, Neelgai, gaur are seen grazing in these areas. It is the only tiger reserve in the state. Indravati forms an important link with the conservation areas in the vast forest belt extending into Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. It is large and the best potential habitat for the Wild Buffalo.

Flora:Teak, Dhaora, Lendia, Saja, Salai, Moyan, Mahua, Dhoban, Siras, Tendu, Bija, Achar, Karra, Kullu, Shisham, Semal, Haldu, Arjun, Bel, Jamun, Rohan, Bahera, Mundi, Kasai etc.

Fauna:Tiger, Leopard, Striped Hyena, Wild Dog, Wolf, Sloth Bear, Flying Squirrel, Indian Fox, Spotted Deer, Sambhar, Barking Deer, Blue Bull, Wild Pig, Wild Buffalo and Gaur . Reptiles : Fresh Water Crocodile, Common Monitor Lizard, Indian Chameleon , Common Krait, Indian Rock Python, Cobra and Russell’s Viper.

Accessibility:By Air: The nearest airport from Indravati National Park is Raipur (at a distance of 486 kilometers). By Rail: The nearest railhead to visit Indravati is Jagadalpur (at a distance of 168 kilometers). By Road: The nearest bus stand form Indravati National Park is Bijapur.

Location: Bastar District

Area:200 Sq. Km.

Uniqueness:Kanger Valley National Park is one of the most beautiful and picturesque national parks of India. Known for its scenic beauty and the unique and rich biodiversity, Kanger Valley attained the status of a National Park in 1982. Besides wildlife and plants, there are many tourist attractions inside the park such as the Kutamsar Caves, Kailash Caves, Dandak Caves and Tiratgarh Waterfalls. Kanger Dhara and Bhaimsa Dhara (a Crocodile Park) are the two beautiful and exotic picnic resorts in the Park.

Flora:Sal, Teak , Bija, Saja, Haldu, Char, Tendu, etc.

Fauna:Tiger, Leopard, Chital, Barking der, Sloth bear, Wild beer, Indian Fox, Mouse deer, Bastar Hill Myna, Racket tailed Drongo, Spotted owlet, Red Jungle Fowl etc.

Accessibility:Kanger Valley is well approachable from Jagdalpur, district head quarter of Bastar. It is at a distance of about 27 km from Jagdalpur on the Jagdalpur – Konta road. You can also approach the park via Jagdalpur – Sargipal – Jatam – Nianar – Bodal road. Raipur (330 km) is the nearest airport and Jagdalpur (27 km) is the nearest railhead and bus stand from the Kanger Valley National Park.

Accommodation:In Raipur, stay at Hotel Batra Palace (GE Road, Post Ravigram, Ph: 0771- 426329) In Jagdalpur, the best option is Akanksha Hotel (Ph: 07782-25336).
